The compliance job your checkout should be doing

If you sell CBD, kratom, nicotine, hemp, supplements, or anything else with a patchwork of rules, the hard part is the same every day: some products cannot ship to some states, some have quantity limits, and some need an age check. RegGate holds all three at checkout, where it counts, so a restricted order cannot slip through.

• State and province restrictions. Choose the products that cannot ship to certain states or provinces, and RegGate blocks those orders at the destination they are headed to.
• Per-state quantity caps. Set how many units of a regulated product one order may ship to a given state, and RegGate holds the cap for that destination.
• Visible age confirmation. Ask shoppers to confirm they meet the age requirement before they can finish checkout, with a check they actually see.

Why merchants choose it

• It holds at checkout, not in the theme. The rules are enforced by Shopify’s own checkout, so editing the cart, pasting a checkout link, or a fast one-tap checkout cannot get around them.
• No popup, no performance hit. RegGate is not a storefront script bolted onto your theme, so it does not slow your pages down or drop your store’s speed score.
• It fails safe. If your rules are ever mid-update, RegGate holds checkout with a clear, temporary message rather than letting a restricted item through. A compliance gate should never fail quietly.

How it works

1. Pick the regulated products and set their rules: which states or provinces they cannot ship to, any per-state quantity caps, and whether they need an age confirmation.
2. RegGate enforces those rules inside Shopify checkout. Nothing is added to your theme.
3. A shopper who is over a cap, shipping to a restricted state, or has not confirmed their age sees a clear message and cannot complete the order.
